Description
A complete recoil starter for the Robin EX17, the 6hp engine used on plate compactors, generators, water pumps and pressure washers. Recoils fail through worn pawls, a broken return spring or a snapped cord, and on hire equipment they take heavy daily use from operators who don’t own the machine. Replacing the assembly outright is normally quicker than rebuilding one on the bench.
Why stock this
This is the fastest-moving mechanical failure on 6hp Robin engines, and one of the few repairs where having stock decides who gets the job as a machine that won’t start is off hire that morning and nobody waits three days for a pull start. The EX17 is one of the most widely fitted engines in the range, so this covers a broad spread of machines rather than a single model.
