Description
This coil sits beside the flywheel on the Robin EX40 and produces the spark for the spark plug. The EX40 is fitted to pressure washers, generators, water pumps and larger plate compactors, where heat and vibration take their toll on ignition parts. A failing coil shows up as no spark, a weak spark, or an engine that cuts out once it’s hot and restarts after it cools down.
Why stock this?
This is a considered purchase rather than a consumable, but a machine with no spark isn’t going anywhere, and fitting a coil only takes a few minutes. Holding one turns a dead machine into a same-day repair instead of a few days off-hire. Before fitting, rule out the spark plug, the stop switch wiring and the oil level sensor, all of which can cut the spark and get mistaken for a coil fault.
