Description
This gasket seals the joint between the cylinder head and the cylinder on the Robin EX40, holding in compression and combustion gases. The EX40 is fitted to pressure washers, generators, water pumps and larger plate compactors, often running for long hours at full load. Head gaskets usually fail after the engine overheats. The signs are loss of compression, hard starting, reduced power and a blowing sound at the head joint.

A head gasket should never be reused, so every job that takes the head off needs one: valve work, a decoke, a head replacement or a blown gasket. It’s a low-value part that can leave a stripped engine sitting on the bench for days if it isn’t in stock. With one on the shelf, the engine goes back together the same day.
