Description
This float-type sensor monitors the oil level inside the Robin EX40. If the level drops too low, it stops the engine, or stops it starting, before it can run dry. The EX40 is fitted to pressure washers, generators, water pumps and larger plate compactors, and on machines that run for long periods or work on a slope, this sensor is what protects the engine. When it fails, the engine won’t start or cuts out even though the oil is at the correct level.
Why stock this?
This part comes up frequently on “won’t start” and “keeps cutting out” jobs. Disconnecting the sensor lead is a quick diagnostic check, but it isn’t a fix, because it leaves the engine with no low-oil protection. With a sensor on the shelf, the machine can go back out the same day, properly protected.
