Description
This rod links the governor lever to the carburettor throttle on the Robin EX40, so the governor can hold engine speed steady as the load changes. The EX40 is fitted to pressure washers, generators, water pumps and larger plate compactors. On a generator, unstable engine speed shows up straight away as unstable output. A bent rod, or one with worn ends, causes hunting, surging or the wrong running speed. Rods often get bent while a carburettor is being removed or refitted.
Why stock this?
This is a low-cost part that comes up on carburettor jobs and surging complaints. A rod that’s been bent or worn loose can cause speed problems that are easily blamed on the carburettor. Fitting a new rod during a carburettor swap avoids a comeback for hunting at idle or surging under load. Pair it with the governor spring, the throttle return spring and the carburettor assembly.
