Description
This is a full replacement recoil starter for the Robin EX40. The EX40 is fitted to pressure washers, generators, water pumps and larger plate compactors. As one of the larger engines in the EX range, it needs a firm pull to start, which puts extra strain on the rope and spring. Recoils usually need replacing because the rope has frayed or snapped, the spring has broken, the pawls have worn and slip, or the housing has cracked.
Why stock this?
On hire and contractor machines, a recoil is a common repair, and a machine that won’t pull-start can’t go out, however healthy the engine is. A complete assembly bolts on in a few minutes, much quicker than re-roping or rewinding a spring on the bench, so the machine can be turned round the same day.
