Description
This two-bolt flange gasket seals the joint where the muffler bolts onto the exhaust port of the Robin EX40. The EX40 is fitted to pressure washers, generators, water pumps and larger plate compactors, where heat and constant vibration work on the exhaust joint. A failed gasket shows up as a ticking or puffing sound at the port, soot marks around the flange and a louder exhaust note. It also lets hot exhaust escape close to the fuel system, so it needs fixing promptly.
Why stock this?
This is a fast-moving, low-cost gasket. A crushed exhaust gasket can’t be reused, so every job that takes the muffler off needs a new one, whether that’s a muffler replacement, head work or a blowing joint. Keeping a few on the shelf saves a job being held up at the last stage for want of a small part.
